After months of seeing the “Fame” cast members walk the red carpet at various premieres and celebrity events, it was their time to shine at their very premiere of the MGM film at The Grove in Los Angeles.
Aside from the premiere, there was also a special concert featuring Fame cast member Naturi Naughton along with Asher Book and his group V Factory. It was a who’s who of young artists from celebrity guest Francia Raisa to Ashley Tisdale. Other celebrity guests who showed up included Mario Lopez, Shane Sparks, Ethan Peck, JC Chasez, Stephen “twitch” Boss, Christian Serratos, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Dionne Warwick, Melora Hardin, and Charles Dutton.
A nice surprise included former cast member from the tv series of “Fame.” The most notable was Erica Gimpel who played Coco in the series. We were hoping that irene Cara would of shown up also.
For those of you who are too young to remember “Fame,” the film follows the lives of a group of young dancers, singers, actors and artists over the four years at the New York City High School of the Performing Arts. The remake of the film stars Kherington Payne, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Paul McGill, Asher Book, Kristy Flores Naturi Naughton, Kay Panabaker, Paul Iacono, Collins Pennie, Walter Perez, Megan Mullally, Kelsey Grammer, Charles Dutton, Bebe Neuwith and original film cast member Debbie Allen. Unfortunately, out of all the cast members above, the lovely Anna Maria Perez de Tagle was unavailable for the premiere as she is still on location for “Camp Rock 2.” Director Kevin Tancharoen was also in attendance.
At this premiere, this was the closest fans were to the black carpet which gave a few lucky fans the abilty to take photos with Ashley Tisdale, V Factory and the like.
Not much craziness to report except some paparazzi were able to sneak in to the photo pen with the usual red carpet photographers.
Fame opens this coming Friday, September 25, 2009 at a theater near you.
